Another social media firing. As a coach in this day and age you cannot mistreat players, it will be publicized via social media. If Beckman had won 20 games in three years it MIGHT have bought him more time , but the timing of this action shows me he had NO friends in the administration. When was the last time you heard of a firing a week before the opener? Four conference wins in three years and on top of that, pressuring players to play a couple days after a serious injury equals an early exit.

Illinois said they will not pay Beckman the $3.1million left on his contract or the $734,000 buyout...I would think there is a clause in the contract for fireable offenses but that never stopped anyone from filing a lawsuit to get more money. Stay tuned. We will interrupt regular programming when breaking news occurs.
