The Akron Athletics page reports the university plans to bring back baseball in 2020 & add Lacrosse. They plan to base the program on Ohio players & use community resources. They state that any scholarships given will be from money obtained from the community & not the traditional athletic scholarships. My impression they will be competing with a program that has few players receiving any financial aid. It will be interesting to see if they are competitive in the MAC. If they are I would not be surprised to see Buffalo try something similar.
