I grew up about 2 minutes from Woodmar Mall. I lived there as a kid. I've never played at the new stadium in Whiting but I did play at the old field at Whiting Park before it was taken out. I've played at Block Stadium and hopefully I can again this coming summer when the renovations are done. Play a couple games a year at The Steelyard in Gary but that isn't saying much....that field isn't what it once was. Never heard of Roberts Field. Maybe it was Roberts Park, on Wolf Lake. If I remember Hammond Post 80 used to use one of those fields for games, but I think they move over to Hammond Clark HS. Forsythe Park in the Robertsdale section of Hammond is probably what you mean. (Whiting is just a stones throw from the park and the people who live in "Robertsdale" claim they live in Whiting and not in Hammond because they have a Whiting Post Office thus giving them a Whiting address even tho "Robertsdale" is Hammond) There is a youth league that plays out of the park now but at one time there were several baseball fields to choose from although they are all gone now accept for the youth league fields. They did a huge overhaul of the entire park a few years back and it's quite nice and what the City of Whiting did to Whiting Park is beyond description on how beautiful it is as now and on a clear day, you can see the skyline of Chicago clear across Lake Michigan.

Robertsdale. That's right.
