So watched a few Michigan State games lately and the announcers love to talk about how Izzo has had to tell Miles Bridges to "be more selfish." That he's gotta learn to be a jerk.
OK, let's say you're coaching the Cardinals right now. What message do you deliver to our main rotation players individually to get the most out of them the rest of the season? What one message do you give to Persons, or Sellers, or Teague, or Mallers, El-Amin, Tyler, etc.?

To Sean Sellers: you are doing such a great job as a senior. You have had a few rough stretches and not always happy with your role but you are closing out your career well, diving for the ball, looking for the open man, driving the lane, playing under control, playing tough. Continue looking for you shot, shoot more, get to the line, stay strong, show leadership, be more vocal. Moses: grow a pair, get the junk yard dog, mentality. Don't pussyfoot, go to the rim strong. Body up and block out. Own the lane. Practice free throws--your form is good. You are supposed to be a great defender so be a great defender. Be more aggressive.

Jeremy Tyler: you are down to your last semester, but who are you? You've shown flashes of brilliance, both defensively and offensively. Strive for consistency, consistent effort. Be a leader. Go out strong.

Go out strong. Probably asking the impossible, to ask him to think past one game and really impossible to be consistent. How about, "Jeremy, get your head in THIS game..."
