Ball State once again took 2 time defending national champion Ohio State to the brink with 2 potential match points before falling to the Buckeyes in yet another heartbreaker 3-2. The Cards led 24-23 in the 4th set when sophomore Blake Reardon was left 1 on 1 on the left pin and was blocked by OSU 2017 National Player of the Year Nic Scerzans. Ball State finishes its 4 week road swing at McKendree University Saturday before returning to Worthen Arena next Friday to battle 6th ranked Lewis.

They seem to play well, and then not play well. OSU not as strong as last two years, but a top 10 team.

Still a great coach but we are nowhere near being able to compete for a national championship let alone have enough consistency to win the conference |

We dominated first set at McKendree and then lost last 3. I'm closing the book on Men's Volleyball for the year.

Ball State hosting two teams ranked in the Top 10 this weekend. Cards battle #8 Lewis on Friday night and #6 Loyola on Saturday. These are always great matches to watch as the intensity is always high when Lewis and Loyola come to town. Big crowds expected both nights so let’s hope BSU opens 2 concession stands so we don’t have to wait 30 minutes to buy a hot dog!
