Uh oh! Looks like Whitfords buddy Sean Miller is in deep shit. On FBI wiretap making sure star recruit comes to Arizona for $100,000 payment. If true, Miller is done!!! Now that one will get fired

Totally agree if he is on tape he is gone & his brother at IU will suffer for it as well just by being related. Sad truth is that most of us on here know that their are more people than just the Saginaw sports agent & Sean Miller giving money to players & their families do to their basketball abilities.

Is anybody surprised by this? Go to any AAU tournament and you find these coaches and those agents. Would be nice to see this crap cleaned up, but I doubt anything will happen before the tournament===except for Miller of Arizona.

"First and foremost, that's a decision the school has to make," Emmert said in an interview on CBS. Emmert noted that no NCAA process has been initiated into Arizona. Asked whether the NCAA has been in touch with Arizona, Emmert said, "We've been in touch with every school that has a student-athlete involved [in the FBI investigation into the sport]." Translation - We don't want to initiate any investigation that might jeopardize the money the NCAA receives from CBS and Turner" www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/22567552/sean-miller-coach-arizona-wildcats-saturday-oregon-ducks

I've met several execs from the NCAA. They are all 5'4" with Napolean complexes.
They won't do anything to the blue bloods. Hell at UNC you don't even have to take real classes and they were allowed to win a National Championship.

It does beg the question as to what Whit did and didn’t know and what he did and didn’t do. Miller has been pegged as greasy for a long time. Not at all saying Whitford had anything to do with anything but the usual silence from the program and the athletic department will probably only lead to people drawing their own conclusions. No one knows anything about Whitford. At all. He doesn’t speak outside of obligatory press conferences so I’m guessing he won’t be issuing any statements about anything.

I can’t disagree with his assessment. Whitford won’t spill the beans on his buddy but don’t be surprised if his name comes up if the Frds dig dealer into Millers past. Shit sticks to your fingers.

Whit may be totally clean but you work that closely with dirt that long some of it’s bound to get on you. Sad thing is you could probably find that level of shit at every major program.

It seems pretty obvious to me that Whitford, at an absolute bare minimum, was aware of a lot of shadey recruiting activities going on.
It's also pretty obvious that in order to avoid hiring a coach that was, at an absolute bare minimum, aware of a lot of shadey recruiting, we would have had to eliminate all candidates who have ever been a part of a coaching staff at one of the nation's top 15 or so programs.
Whitford was part of an utterly corrupt and hypocritical system and no doubt aspired to rejoin (but at a higher level) that same utterly corrupt and hypocritical system at some point in the future. It would be difficult to have a successful mid-major program without employing this sort of person. I suppose it could be done, but it would much harder if you self-handicapped yourself by drastically reducing the size of your hiring pool. Certainly our own administration, already handicapped by their own extreme stupidity, disinterest and incompetence could ill afford to be disadvantaged in this way.

Guilt by association its bound to happen. Just gotta hope what ever he might or might not have done there stays out west. No reason to believe he has done anything here

Davis implys that Whitford if clean is the only one of 4 coaches working together for 10 yrs not to be mentioned by the FBI. Davis per usual is trying to rub BSU's name in the dirt probably to be certain no Butler recruit would ever consider us.
