The MAC is left out of this year's NIT. Somewhat surprised not to see Turdledo in the NIT? Just goes to show you how little the MAC is thought of across the county when you have teams like Florida Gulf Coast and Rider being selected over a MAC team! Pathetic really. ND is a number one seed.

Amazing that in the women’s WNiT, Toledo finishes 8-10 in 4th place the MAC West and finish the season on a 4 game losing streak and the Rockets make the tournament- unbelievable!

The MAC sucks and therefore Ball State sucks. Both the conference and our university have fallen in both football and basketball much deeper into mediocrity than many will admit.

Watching Northern Kentucky play Louisville and wondering if Persons ever regrets his decision to leave. He's missed NCAA and NIT appearances with the Norse in the three years since his departure.
Of course, I guess the other possibility is they might not be as good as they are if he were there, or he might not be playing as significant a role as he does at BSU.

They got really good after he left, with the new coach he didn’t want to play for....

Ya never know. Trading a season ending tourney appearance (the stated goal of all) and playing in a situation you don’t like for 3 or 4 years playing for and with who you want in a life experience may be worth it. There is something to be said for being happy in your situation. Missing the tourney still stings.
Back to my martini.

If I were Persons I would give up two tournament teams for the privilege of playing for the coaching wizardry of Whit.
