I will say that mike Neu has not made a lot of friends with some of the decisions he’s made with processes and with people.

Mornings? Isn't that when classes are usually held? Do these guys go to class? ...A few players literally had to change majors to remain eligible because of the time conflict. This is incredibly uncool.

What a bunch of sh*t. Make kids change majors so the coaching staff can make happy hour in the village. I would have to question Neu on this move. I would remind him these are STUDENT athletes we are talking about. Where is the AD, BOT, and the President? Do all of those entities agree with this? I am on the verge of siding with the General.

I hate it but it is a shift a lot of the bigger schools are going too. I read an article where it said the GPA's actually rise under this set up. Get up practice and your done for the day physically. Some days you may have film work but for the most part the rest of the day is yours to do as you please. Eliminates going back and forth from practice class etc. I assume at bigger schools though they find a way for kids to get the classes they need. Forcing a Major change is deff not cool

Forcing a Major change is deff not cool There may be plusses and minuses. Not sure how much impact. And it may be one of those unintended consequences. And trouble is minimized as the advisors figure out which majors are problems and they steer the kids away. Business administration, marketing or management where there are more majors, more sections, instead of Finance, for example. Getting out of science majors has been a long time problem because there are time consuming labs, usually afternoon, classes all in the morning, not much you can do either way. But then we have had some awfully good student athletes who graduated in Chem or Biology or PreMed, who might today find it hard to do. Big schools are more likely to red shirt players which gives them 5 years, they may also have more classes taught by GA's and faculty may have lower teaching loads and it may be easier to create a little more slack in scheduling, but I bet it is a problem everywhere. I am suspicious that GPA increase could sometimes be due to steering athletes to easier majors which has always been a temptation.

The bigger schools AKA football factories are deff pushing kids to easy majors just to keep most eligible. That happens anyways does not matter the time of practice. The whole setup though seems to work better at those schools for many of the reasons you listed above

''Don't worry Mom and Dad your son won't over sleep any classes 'cause here at good ole BSU practice starts at 8am which means your son will be getting out of bed at 6:30 am just in time to make it out to the stadium". "Sorry but even though I mentioned our nationally ranked entreprenuer program your son will not be able to pursue that major because many of those classes are held between eight and eleven ." ''We do have many Phys. ED. courses available in the PM hours as an alternative.'' GREAT!

There is a lot of truth to what your saying but there are many many more "student atheletes" pursuing the gen studies degree than Entreprenuer/sciences or finance degrees.

No wonder the GPAs are out of sight. Who couldn't get an ''A'' volleyball?

No wonder the GPAs are out of sight. Who couldn't get an ''A'' volleyball? Hey. That is a hard game. Got to dive around on the floor and can't use your hands to catch the ball...
