Steph Curry syndrome was alive and well for Butler in that last minute. You're down by 2 and you have a smaller defender guarding you, go to the rim. You don't need a fade-away three, especially when you have enough time for a 2 for 1.

Both teams took bad shots late, made it interesting.

Purdue was 28 of 53 (9 of 17 from 3) from the field. BSU was 29 of 80 (5 of 21 from 3) from the field. I know when shooting slumps, you try to shoot through it, but wow!

Bsu ladies were a baaaad shooting team, especially towards the end of the season. Good season that had a rough landing.

Shooting so well is double edged. When you can shoot, You have to build your game around expecting to hit. What is a good shot changes.
Purdue's last 3 against Butler for the men was a play with the guy going away from the basket using a screen, then catching, turning and shooting in one motion, not what you think of as a great shot, but that's what they planned. And they hit it...
You live by the 3, die by the 3.
Butler's defense was smothering much of the game. That they can hold constant and they count on reducing the other teams shooting percentage, but Purdue overcame it in key stretches.

Right. Thanks. Coulda sworn this was curling. Still stuck in Olympics mode. I started watching curling and thought it was boring. I continued to watch and found myself using body language trying to move the puck (or whatever they call it). I am now a fan of curling and find it very exciting.
