Yes, maybe all you have to do here is trust the BSU Administration. A little.
I've done that with previous administrations, and I ended up with jack squat. History on that is discouraging. And trusting our budget to attract the best talent, also a question mark.

Can she find creative ways to get us money.. Targets for hires will come from search firms.. I am willing to give her a chance

I like the hire. This woman does not come to bsu to make it a retirement 2.0,she is young enough to want to build stronger resume to go to power type school. I'd say give her a chance lets see what she can improve. I agree about the retirement 2.0 comment. Not guaranteeing this is or isn't a good hire, but I'm willing to give her a chance.

Cmon Sherm what’s not to trust? We have the lowest average home attendance in all of D1 football and average less than 4000 a game in an 11500 seat arena for men’s b-ball! We haven’t won a MAC title in either of our two largest revenue sports in more than two decades. Where’s your patience man?

Trust? As if we have any choice in the matter. What is done is done. We each personally choose if we support the university or not. Honestly, I'm not jumping up and down about this decision. I hope I will be in he future. I am encouraged that some of you are seeing positives.
I personally choose to support my university and our athletic programs because I love it. I do this regardless of some of the moronic directions they have chosen in the past. Withdrawing support, especially financial support, won't make things any better. It will only make things worse. It is in no way constructive. That doesn't mean I follow blindly or don't express my opinion to the people who do make decisions.

in all due rerespect, not sure i understand the reason to oppose the hire based on perceived affirmative action to hire race and gender based as one of the pposters indicated. the university that i got a degree from is not run by me and they make all sorts of decision based on the best interest of the university. They might have hired a white male to please the mmajority but they hired instead a white woman. bsu is not a private company and must consider all the people it serves.

Calhoun i think i get what you mean except your posting qualifies the woman hire "as best available... candidate" indicating the usual qualifier... as if women and minorities are not the best. would you have used similar qualifying word had they hired your typical run of the mill male athletic director? there is a lot we can skin regarding this and other hires and our own perception as humans...but this will do for now. thanks for your opinion!

I do not know who they other finalists were so its hard to say.. Not really trying to qualify anyone just stating as other have said that we have to trust the board that she was the best person for the job

She is qualified...stop already... Ive said that I personally think she is qualified. I have liked what I read. Our track record with hiring Ad's has not been great IMO though

But she is NOT a glitter farting unicorn, so we came up short there.
