At the roughly midway point in the CFL season Jordan Lambert Williams of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders is the the only one of the 3 current x Cards in the CFL having a good season. He has 36 catches in 9 games for 402 yds & 2 TDs. His catches per game average ranks in the league's top ten but his yardage is well down the list . Both Ottawa Jonathan Newsome & Edmondton's Jamill Smith have been injured & have recently come off the DL. Newsome has 2 tackles in 2 games & Smith 3 catches in 4 games for 21 yds. Smith who is the Eskimos primary punt returner & kick returner has 18 punts returns for 99 yds & 14 kick returns for 335 yds.

Jonthan Newsome was released by the Ottawa Redblacks July 28th. He was in his 3rd season their & had been used this yr only on special teams & in passing situations as a pass rusher.

Jonathan Newsome has been picked up by the BC Lions & is playing much better. He is starting at DE & has 14 tackles & 4 sacks.There are 2 games left in the regular season the Lions are currently 5-11 & in last place in the West division. Jordan Williams-Lambert returned to Saskatchewan after being cut by the Bears. He has caught 3 passes in the past 2 games which are the only ones he has been in. The Roughriders are 10-5 & tied for 1st in the West.
