Come on you guys.
Fred Beamer and Lance White? Lance White as a ladies basketball coach? That's hilarious.
Richie Brockelman? Doug Chapman? Skip Speece? Carl Wronko? Gandolph Fitch? Evelyn Martin? Anyone?

Y'all I'm a little worried about the General. I think he's gone 'round the bend.

I'll take "Characters on The Rockford Files" for 500, Alex...

Fred Beamer, hapless PI in an episode of Rockford where Tom Selleck was the good looking guy. Didn't get the context until you mentioned all the other classic Rockford characters. Angel, Gandy, and then I remembered Richie which led to Lance and Beamer, and it clicked.

I saw that headline and immediately cracked up at the mental image. Can you imagine Lance White on the recruiting trail? The ladies would never be able to tell him no. Well, not the hetero ones anyway.
Lance White working the refs?
Lance: Excuse me sir, but maybe your view was somewhat obscured on that charge call? Ref: You know, you're right Lancer. I'm going to change that to a block. Opposing coach Rockford: What!?! You're changing the call just like that!? She straight-armed her and put her in the third row of the bleachers!
If you're not that familiar with the Rockford Files...well, I just feel sorry for you.

It happens that I will be in LA next month. I'm hoping to fit in a pilgrimage to the Malibu parking lot where Jim's trailer sat.

My dad loved that show. And I'm in my 40's.
