Well said. As Jim Mora might say Ball State would be lucky to even win 1 of their remaining 4 games.

To me the schemes seem bad. Offense can’t push the ball down the field at all and the d is easy to put big pass plays on and they get confused/lost easily. And for some reason we don’t want to seem to keep Gilbert on the field long enough to get going. (Even our radio guys were questioning that post game)
Guys look frustrated. Guys are jawing a lot. Lots of sloppiness and bad penalties. It looks kinda like things are coming apart at the seams.

No wonder the stands are over half empty. Yet I continue to tune in for this crap. Can’t wait for basketball season. Oh wait, just more frustration to come. Yikes!!!

We will never be a consistent winner with the Lynch/Neu Horizontal Offense.
Today we were simply overpowered by a team with superior talent and coaches.

It’s hard to be objective so soon after a game, but it seems like we’re on a seesaw. These guys are better than they played today. There’s a reoccurring theme of defense not being aggressive, especially the DB’s. It’s a killer to see them slow or stop to break down for a tackle & the runner side step & pick up 3,4,5 more yards or break off a big gain. Offensively Riley gets happy feet, threw off balanced & sailed the ball some today. RB’s have to get to full throttle, seems like every time they’re waiting for the holes to be opened up but they’re not, stop stringing themselves out & get north. That horizontal pass at the line of scrimmage sucks, I’d rather see us attack with 3-5 yard dump pass, at least it’s positive direction. Speaking of the waiting for blocks/holes, even the receivers slow, get the reception & get vertical, take the hit to the defender. All that said, it’s an attitude about how to approach playing a game. I don’t think it’s time to consider a coaching change, maybe staff tweaks, but definitely a change in attitude/approach. We’re young, we’re injured, we’re limited depth, etc... shouldn’t impact the attitude of attack, aggression on both sides of the ball. Need to play a little pissed off, stop being too nice. It’s football, stay off the heels & get it!

Make a big defensive stop with 2:30 to go in the 1st half down 14-6. We get the ball to start the second half. The last thing we want to do is give EMU another first half possession.
Punt the ball back to EMU with 1:41 after a quick 3 and out. Give up another touchdown. Down 21-6 at halftime.
That in a nutshell is this coaching staff to me. Baffling.

Did no one else see that EMU had too many players on the field on 3rd down? Not that it would have made a huge difference, but it would have been 3rd and 2.

Did not know this had happened
Ball State benched its two senior cornerbacks, Josh Miller and Marc Walton, for sophomore Antonio Phillips and true freshman AJ Uzodinma. That’s notable considering Miller and Walton have a combined 47 career starts, and Phillips and Uzodinma had just three. Eastern Michigan quarterback Tyler Wiegers had no problem picking them apart, completing 22 of 28 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns.

Neu and the entire coaching staff need to be kicking rocks outta town once the season is over.

Well this escalated quickly.. I guess its safe to say Neus seat is hot and I agree it should be. Performances like today get players benched and coachs fired

I do want this staff and team to succeed, but I would expect that at this stage of game that even with talent deficiencies we should be doing something well, and I have no idea what we do well.
Offense? No. Defense? No. Special teams? No. Running the ball? No. Passing the ball? No. Defending the run or the pass? No and No. Are we a team with few penalties? No. Do we put consistent pressure on the opposing QB? No. Is our game plan tailored to highlight the few areas where we might have an advantage? No. Are we developing young, talented players? No.
I mean there are tons of questions and I can't think of one where the answer is "Yes."
At this point, that's on the staff.

Uzodinma was lost on the td on 3rd and 9 in the first half. Miller was in during the second half and looked like he was half Assing it. Lots of guys looked that way to be honest. As as been said many times, the secondary is just bad, no matter who’s out there. They don’t look well coached.

Unfortunately Neu will finish his contract as the university can't afford to buy him out. BSU is a poor university with an endowment balance smaller than some small private colleges. It feels shitty to be at the bottom of the sports world but that's how it is. Calm down and watch the drubbing😁again and again.

I am frustrated like the rest of you, but I want Neu back for at least 1 more year. Let him finish his contract and if we don’t get to a bowl game next year we can look for a new head coach.
