It's time for our annual state of the state of Indiana basketball rankings. Kenpom has 1 (#kenpom #19) Purdue, 2. (#22) IU, 3. (#29) Butler, 4. (53) Notre Dame, 5. (83) Ball State, 6. (131) Indiana State, 7. (179) Evansville, 8. (193) Valpo, 9. (197) IUPUI, and #10 (206) IPFW. It is going to be difficult, year in and year out, for anyone to break that top 4. It was just three years ago we were ranked last. Here's my top 10. 1. IU, 2. Butler, 3. Purdue, 4. Notre Dame, 5. BSU, 6. ISU, 7. Evansville, 8. Valpo, 9. IUPUI, 10 Fort Wayne.

There is an outside chance, the state of Indiana doesn't put a single team in the tourney this year.

I'd say almost no chance we don't put a minimum of one team in....possibly 4 teams in.

I believe Butler, Indiana State, and IUPUI all have players become eligible at the semester. Butler's is the transfer from Duke.

Semester transfers have been playing for a couple of weeks now. Tucker for Butler and Neese for ISU have both been coming off the bench, getting 15-20 minutes at game at the moment. Neither making a big impact yet, but Butler really doesn't have another player like Tucker. They're getting pretty solid production from him in limited minutes for now. Not sure where Neese fits in for the Sycamores.

Christian Williams, a 6’5 guard who transferred from Iowa is starting for ISU. He and Neese became eligible at the same time. Williams was a part time starter for Iowa and will be a very good player for ISU before he is done. He was a highly touted high school player who really did not play up to his potential for Iowa. He will be a good player in the Mo Valley.
