Last year last year last year. What did we do last year? Faded and lost in the first Mac tourney game. Were we really that much luckier last year? We ultimately did nothing with all that luck we supposedly had. Did O’gara get the luck theme from the radio guys?
But “we tried to play the right way.” Like again having more turnovers than assists and giving up a ton of second chance points? (And why is it so hard to get these guys to play the right way on a consistent basis?)
It’s the same stuff every game whether we shoot well or not. We don’t/can’t defend. We struggle to get everyone playing well (enough) at the same time to win games. We’re seeing Persons get more frustrated each game too. We don’t make winning plays in close games. That’s not luck, that’s not making plays. More and more fans aren’t buying what whit is selling and I’m not sure the team is either.

Heck the way things are going this season we will probably make it to the MAC Tournament Championship game and get blown out on National TV by the Buffaloes!

Fire them now! Including Ogara and his fluff piece. We have a pansie as a coach who recruits pansies. Could any of you make the excuses Whitford makes and keep your job? We are not disciplined, we are horrendous defensively and we have to shoot well just to be in the game on the road. There is no process here, it is the same bad dream every freaking year. Always someone to blame for your screw ups. I can vent all Inwant here but he will be back and we will go through this again next year. Welcome to the Xanax world we call Ball State Sports.

I am so disappointed in this team. I thought this was "the year." Ten turnovers in the second half killed us. Walton continually driving to the basket on a 1-on-three and getting blocked or throwing up a prayer when he should just bring it out. Positives: 1. We played hard but it wasn't enough. 2. Huggins got 4 minutes and didn't hurt us too much. 3. Thompson got productive minutes. Negatives: 1. Walton 2. We need more from Teague. 3. Nehls: 17 minutes, 1 shot attempt. 4. Persons and Moses a combined 11 turnovers, 5. we didn't feed the post for shots or inside out. Oh how we need Hazen and Ish They may provide just enough spark to win these close games. I never thought we would be 2-5 in conference play. I saw us as the #2 team to Buffalo. I'd love to see Whit rip into a player. Just do something!

Well, I guess we now know what we got.....

Oh, Archie Miller might be looking for a new gig. Maybe Whit can put in a good word to AD on his way out with his “Sean connection”.
Nothing like rebuilding a MAC bottom dweller to reinvigorate your tarnished career.

We have no good luck at all. Our luck factor is ranked in the 300's. OU ranked in the top ten. Per radio guys. Please tell me you're not serious. Just paraphrasing what what I heard on the radio.

"Luck" is just a measure of deviation from their computer model predictions. It just a catch all factor. Considering their model doesn't contain a coaching component, I would write it up to bad coaching.

The rankings of "luck" are most interesting. Auburn, nationally ranked, and coached by Bruce Pearl, is even lower in the rankings than the Cards. I always look to see the scores of both the Tide and the Tigers, but haven't really watched many of their games. Now I'm curious and will watch Auburn.
Also I notice the Buttdogs were very unlucky in this ranking.
Go Cards!

The past 2 years we've been among the luckiest teams in the nation. In the top 50 last year, the top 100 the year before.
I guess that means we really weren't as good as we supposedly were the past two years and we aren't as bad as we think we are this year. Just our luck.

Do we have an administration that has the guts to show Whit the door? If not, why not? BTW, how overrated is being an Indiana All-Star these days?
