I've got a new college MBB I'm been following, actually have been following them for a few years now, but anyway it's Lipscomb University. They play in the A-Sun conference and went to the NCAA tournament last year and lost to UNC in the first round. Yeah this is the college my son and other two kids went/go to so I kinda have to but let me tell you those that love great team basketball with stud interior players and outstanding defense and outstanding coaching then you'll love this team! After watching them play it's so hard to watch Ball State because Ball State plays just the opposite of Lipscomp. Makes watching Ball State is like watching nails on a chalk board. If you're looking for a new team to watch that really plays hard and brings it every game then you should check them out. They have already beaten ranked TCU and took Louisville to wire at the Yum Center earlier this year. A much, much better product than the Ball State program!! Go Bisons!! BTW, they're on right now ESPN3 and they're playing Liberty, who beat UCLA and cost Steve Alford his job there, who is also unbeaten in the A-Sun so its the battle of the top two teams in the league tonight. Great game as Lipscomb is up by 18!

Glad for you and your Bison... any day Liberty gets taken apart is a good day.

Surely what Redfeather is saying cannot be true. I used to live in the Nashville area and I remember little David Lipscomb College of NAIA fame.
Now I'm supposed to believe that in the time since Ball State last went to the NCAA tournament, they've transformed into Lipscomb University, joined the NCAA and now have a more successful program than the Cards. How can that be?
I suppose next someone will tell me that Lipscomb's neighboring rival Belmont, also an NAIA school until the mid-90s, is now a nationally respected NCAA Division I program that routinely plays in either the NCAA or NIT.
The things people come up with ...

Pretty sure little Lipscomb has also beaten IU (in Bloomington) in that time frame.

You guys are kinda getting my point aren’t you! And FYI, they had Liberty down by 30 and the third string let them get to down only 20 for the final score.

Pretty sure little Lipscomb has also beaten IU (in Bloomington) in that time frame. If I am remembering correctly IU was cruising and blew a twenty point lead in that game.

I know this thread is likely in jest and perhaps the post is just to illustrate that previously non-existent programs have now surpassed us which again revives the football argument, but I’m a Cardinal. Love em, hate em, check out on em, whatever it’s my alma mater and I will follow them til I’m gone from this marble. Investment of time and money however will ebb and flow based on leadership by the admin because that determines our success. Good leadership will commit to do what it takes to be a championship level program, invest and hire accordingly and then demand results commensurate with those expectations.
