Cards beat Charleston Southern in first game of this weekends series.
McDermott starts and gets the win. Goes 6 innings.
Card pitchers were a combined 13 K’s and 6 BB’s, 2 WP....no HBP. (Oh, our batters struck out 15 times!)
game two tomorrow against the Irish. 11 am

Hitting is awful. Two guys on this team know what they're doing. Maloney has got the others so messed up they have no clue. Just like last year, if they get down 0-1 the AB is over. These guys come here hitters, and he changes what they do. Pull the ball and launch angle is all he preaches.

That .213 team batting average and .291 on base percentage is quite telling.
They are playing two mediocre teams this week, and being one of the best mediocre managers out there, they might do better then they have done so far. Of course being the best mediocre manager is kind of like being the tallest midget.

Haven’t seen the cumulative stats, but my recollection is that Drey Jameson now has 29 K’s in less than 16 innings. (3 game appearances)
Cards now 4-5 with 2 games remaining in King Charle’s Town, SC

Last Charleston game delayed to this morning. Simmons to start for Cards against Charleston Southern.
Early in season, but it looks like Coach Glant has really made an impact on our pitchers the last couple of years. .

I was very impressed about beating ND twice but just checked EMU Athletic site for Basketball & so I looked at the baseball team. What do you know they also beat ND once also lost once. They also lost 3 games to Texas Corpus Christi, 4 games to NJ Tech & 2 to Incarnate Word. So the wins over ND don't appear nearly as impressive. EMU is 2-10-1 to date.
