Since Central Michigan won Friday, Ball State will be the 2 seed next week in the tournament. The key today is to avoid any injuries before next Thursday.

I'm glad they wrapped up a bye. Barring a late CMU collapse, it appears 95% likely BSU will be the 2 seed next week. We'll need a bye. Our bench is shallow. We cannot go deep into games. The same is true of our pitching. We have two really solid starters, and a third that is hot & cold. Relief, we have a couple of consistent relievers, but cannot "pitch by committee" in a tourney setting. Tourney strategy is so much different than week in, week out, regular season strategy. We need less games, keep pitch count down, and build runs early. |

We have a good shot at winning this tournament and getting into the big dance. Come on you pitchers...high and tight, low and away, low and in. Keep the ball down and keep it out their roundhouse. You starters have to last. Let's be the first to score and run with it. I wanna go dancin'. This could be fun.

I agree with calling BS better winning percentage gets it. If CMU gets rained out we will finish 2nd even if we win. We have to win & they have to lose.

We get a win as will CMU & finish 2nd. My impression that was a very poorly pitched game & happy to get the win & now get ready for the tourney.

We finished strong but cmu is freaking rolling. Totally dominated Miami.
We’re gonna need a 3rd pitcher plus the bullpen to really step up to have any kind of chance in the tourney.

Miami's start was not against good quality opponents. I would say they faced tougher opposition than CMU but not up to ours or Kent's. Miami freshman Bachman has tailed off in last month with only loss on yr against CMU.They started 29-7 & finished losing 10 of final 17 for a 36-17 record. Last yr they were 35-20 & 2nd in both regular season & tourney. The pitchers are mostly seniors as 2 starters & top two reliefers are finishing their careers with a 20-7 record & then Bachman was 7-1. The key is can the pitchers come back in the tourney. I think Kent is more of a potential problem than Miami now.

Hey Calhoun.....We’re going to slow this thing down and let the Football and Basketball folks jump on !!!! I have been lurking and went to a couple games plus listened to some on the radio. So I am aware not sure you want me fully on the wagon though as the teams I really follow stink. I should probably keep my distance |
