No matter what happened, we got a key win on the road again. Enjoy the hell out of it. Plenty of time for the criticism tomorrow! Nice win Cards! Put your body armor on as the Rockets are now in a must win situation. However, they displayed a chink in their armor today. Could this now be a toss up game?? I’m guessing Toledo will be a 7 - 10 point favorite.

Who thought we would be 2-0 to start MAC play? Plitt played much better in the second half and Huntley was a beast. The offense is very balanced. I think the difference this year is the defense. We are pretty average on defense, but we make enough big plays to win games. I feel good about our starting cornerbacks, and I haven’t felt that in a long time.
Next week we will need to play better for 4 quarters to win, but it feels great to get off to this start. We are currently first in the West! Next Saturday is the biggest home game we’ve had in a long time.

Delay out of timeout is bad enough. I may be biased being a former kicker but every div 1 school should have somebody who is atleast 50/50 in the 45-50 range, if not better. Atleast give it a shot. Punting did nothing. Go for the first down or fg attempt. Punting is cop out in that situation. We won so i guess i shouldn't be such a back seat coach. I'm getting older and I'm not sure if I can take games like this anymore. Wind was a factor in the decision. I don’t think Rimler can make a 50 yard fg into the wind.

I would’ve gone for it there, which it looked like we planned before the delay of game.

You can't do this every week but they were down on the road, 2 scores, two weeks in a row and came back to win. I like their fight.

I am hoping that Neu inspires this team to hold home field for Homecoming, even when you are down 27-3, or what ever that score was back in '93 when Neu came from behind and beat Toledo for a 31-30 Homecoming victory. Isn't this what leadership is all about? Inspiration?

I'm hoping my bitching keeps us from celebrating a mediocre win against EMU, when we should be focused on a full on storm from Turdledo, the Pocket Rockets.

Don't think celebration and overconfidence is going to be a problem. Toledo playing backs to the wall to get back to winning is the problem.

I was listening to the EMU broadcast of the game they felt we should have gone for the 1st down in the last 2 minutes. They also thought Rimmler could not kick a fg against the wind from there.

After an 18 hour drive I'm to tired to add anything and it's all been said anyway.. I will say this do not try to drive and watch/listen to this game while driving in fall break traffic in the clusterfugh that is Birmingham. I Was so stressed out by the last 5 bsuish minutes of the game I nearly caused 25 accidents. Hey we are lucky but we are 2-0 and in first place. It's been a minute since we could say that.. Might as well crash a rocket..Let's go

I have been trying to hold my comments for a day this year but I had to put my two cents worth. What I saw yesterday was a team AND staff learning how to win. A team that fell behind but did not cave. A team that believed in their coaches, schemes, and teammates and did not panic. They worked their plan, kept the faith and it worked. In the three previous seasons we lose this game by seventeen points. I hope the staff pays attention to what happened near the end of the game and allows these young men to play to win and not play so soft they end up playing NOT TO LOSE. Teams that play not to lose, many times do just what they did not want to happen... they are defeated. Toledo lost to a very pedestrian Bowling Green club. They are not Supermen. They are a team that can be beaten. This team did what they had to do, they won a must win game. Now the next step will be, can they win a game against a favored Toledo and shock the conference?

bsu0 has a good point that a team that last year had no belief and did not know how to win has learned a lot. That is a giant step. And yes, Toledo like about any MAC team can be beaten by a really great effort. If they don't play their best. I just don't think it is likely and don't think this is a yet a good MAC team this year. Good enough to give most teams on the schedule a good game, and good enough that I am pretty happy with it at this point.
I was optimistic at the beginning we could win 5, we missed in the FAU game, and some of those wins I hoped for will be harder than I expected, but against the odds we have 2 wins in the bag. Neither was a tour de force win which should scare anybody. I am sticking with 5 wins as a projection. The harsh reality is that we will be clearly favored to win in one game the rest of the way, and at best perhaps narrowly favored in a couple more. It will be week by week. Which while it means we could conceivably win almost any game, also means we are beatable in every game...
