Some observations and explanations from game uno.
1. Defiance is in Ohio but their actual location is somewhere between awful and putrid. 2. Teague not starting for academic reasons is so BSUish as Rob would say. Just what you’re hoping for from your senior leader. 3. Gunn is out for the year. Also BSUish. Might as well get the train started right? 4. We jacked a ton of treys against a team who’s tallest guy was 6-4. Our post game will be non existent gang. Glad we shot well though. 5. Of the newcomers, Coleman and Bumb impressed. Kroft, Acree, Hendricks are not ready for prime time. Myrine is too athletic to not play but he’s in need of some serious polish. 6. Walton is a shooting liability. Surprise. Glad he has a 99 inch vertical though. 7. Hazen, Mallers, Ish, Walton, Thompson and Teague are clear first six. Bumb and Coleman first subs. Everyone else is rough. 8. ManBun and Hendricks are not ready. Hendricks has some nice potential but he’s a legit 190 pounds. The Gator is enthusiastic. That’s his best attribute in addition to being 6-11. 9. Bumbalough will easily be our toughest guy. 10. Our depth looks highly over rated.

Wow, Reality are you negative?
We pounded an inferior opponent fact?
Our team is one of the top two teams in the MAC!
I frankly have major distaste for anyone so negative!
You are cute with your occasional response but I’m calling you out that we will have a solid season. Solid is 20 or more wins! Take a position not a political statement
At least I’ll be happy and be a friend of the program.
Some of u people are plain sick

Some observations and explanations from game uno. 4. We jacked a ton of treys against a team who’s tallest guy was 6-4. Our post game will be non existent gang. Glad we shot well though. You may remember that when the supposed line-up was revealed before the game, we were told by one of the wise strategic minds here that " This makes sense against a small team that shoots outside. We'll be able to pressure shooters." In other words, our line-up may have been dictated to us by an under-sized, bad D3 team. Or at least that's what one of the program's most long-winded apologists thought. Of course, what this really all points to is that our big man recruiting has be terrible for the last 5 years....what with giving the staff some extra time off for some summers, decamping to California for another, and so on.

Kid your opinion of me or of our program couldn’t be more meaninglessness to me. I can’t stress that enough.

Drawing ANY positive conclusions from playing a bad D3 team can’t really be justified.
The board was warned about this well prior to the game.

Listen every player on our roster should have been able to do what ever they wanted when ever they wanted.. There are several ECI high schools that would give defiance every thing they wanted..

The problem with that scumbag RC is that he always tries to base his opinions on reality. 🤦♂️

The problem with that scumbag RC is that he always tries to base his opinions on reality. 🤦♂️ A true statement! We beat up on what was essentially a high level high school team and had too many players not look very good doing it. Our lowest level player would probably be defiance’s best player. Rather than just go inside and dominate we were content to chuck 3’s against a smaller and less athletic team. If that’s how we are going to play this year we aren’t going to win much. Hendricks and Kroft probably should have been redshirted. Huggins will never give us much other than hustle and a few boards. Teague is going to continue to be problematic for Whitford. Long way to go and we’ll improve. But RC’s observations appear to be spot on and not political or brought in by delusions of a 20 win, top 2 team in the league. Obviously I hope I’m wrong and we finally exceed expectations.

I wonder if Hendricks and Kroft not red-shirting is a sign Whitford is feeling the pressure? Instead of doing what is right for the kids and the program (red-shirting 2 guys who will provide a few meaningless minutes this season), he is going down swinging with everything he's got.

Reality is fiction! I believe to make an assessment that are depth is overrated, Kroft not ready, etc is crazy based on one game any game! Say what you want. And, I could also not care who are or where you are or what you think!
I’d Simply suggest anyone who could be so negative after an initial exhibition game won by plus 40 over even an inferior opponent is simply over the top so very early in this season; my statement stands not caring what you think!
I agree with you Tarheel to a large extent but likewise drawing negative conclusions would also be the same, fair?

What you're seeing and reading is not what's happening. Truth is not truth.

If Gunn is out for the season maybe he really ought to consider transferring. He's not been remotely as advertised save a couple of good games shooting the ball. He's getting more behind each day and he is redundant because his position is about all Whit recruits. He's a man without a position because he's not quick enough to play on the perimeter and not strong enough to play inside. (and doesn't want to) He appears to be a great kid and I think he ought to look elsewhere for a chance to play. Otherwise he'll just be an occasional situational shooter the rest of his time at BSU. There's a reason only us and IUPUI were recruiting him at the time he committed.

Hendricks you may have a point but Kroft has skills and will get minutes in my view Kroft does have skills but where will he get enough minutes to make it worth not redshirting? He'd have to take minutes from someone else who's currently better. I like him long term though. He'll be a gamer. Unless Hendricks explodes in development over the season he's going to waste away, getting a few mins here and there. He could have used a development year. BUT, we have no one else his size who can actually play. Huggy ain't it.
