Home field, they can probably bring about half their usual crowd to Detroit.

Eastern’s looking pretty good. Nice way to cap off the year.

EMU nearly got the upset & beat the spread. They did bring their fans record crowd of over 34,000. I would love for us to do that somewhere in the future.

Should also mention on next to last play Pitt team captain spit on EMU captain (Glass?). Glass was then ejected for fighting with two Pitt players the Pitt team captain was also ejected. Not the way you want to end a bowl game.

That way they didn't lose as much as they otherwise might have.

I realize there’s reason for jabs towards Eastern, probably more than I have experience with, however I still was pulling for them as with each MAC team. Maybe next year BSU can make it to one. Personally I wouldn’t care if it was 37 miles from campus, those kids put up with a lot to reach the end of the season. Except for the end of the game Eastern represented pretty well. Hopefully Ohio, Western and Miami can do as well or better.

Ypsilanti ——> Detroit
Man, I don’t know. If I was playing for unranked EMU and you gave me a choice to practice 4 more weeks to play unranked Pitt 37 miles away in Detroit in the winter......or go home and enjoy the off-season and holidays......I’m 100% certain I would take the “go home” choice. I would have to think my choice would also be popular among my peers.
Throw Bahamas, CA, FL, AL, GA, Hawaii and yes, even Boise, into the decision and I might opt to play

I agree. Except I will not root for Miami. My wife has an undergraduate degree from Ball State, same as I. She has a masters from Miami. We lived in Middletown, Ohio for a number of years and I attended a number of Miami games, especially basketball. I will root for Miami and any MAC team (have to work hard when it’s Toledo) in any sport as long as they are not playing the Cards.

EMU played really well last night. IMHO they grossly outplayed Pitt, which why the outcome was so disappointing. Their playcalling towards the end of the game got them, IMO. Disappointing loss in that regard.
I will never, and I mean never, root for NIU. I cannot stand its arrogant fans and the league's love affair with the school. I feel the same way about Ohio U and its fans. I just can't make myself root for Miami either. I did kinda feel that way about UB fans after the 2008 MACC debacle and a few basketball games, but I'm kind of indifferent now. I am generally able to root for the rest of the MAC.
