So, we've been talking some about Tahjai Teague's potential as a Hall of Fame member. And then today there was a thread started mentioning Theron Smith.
And so I went to the Hall of Fame website to see who's actually in there. and I was surprised by some of the names I didn't see ... like T. Smith, or Steve Payne, or several other Ball State basketball players I kinda just would have figured were there. Of course, Palombizio gets in later this month.
Now it surely would be easier if the HoF was just basketball, but it encompasses a lot more than than just that sport or just athletes and coaches, and that's OK with me. I also understand there is a component to the voting that includes more than just athletic prowess, talking about their life after Ball States, their contributions to school and community, etc. That also is OK with me.
But has anyone else really looked at the HoF roster and seen who's really in and who's not? Anyone you guys see as glaring omissions?
As I look at the roster I think that Taj has a good shot of making it if his current season continues, but he still might not get in until he's 50 or older.
