Admittedly, I’m not a big NFL fan, but I follow lots of sports. Just saw the ‘20 HOF class. I didn’t bother to look up any stats, but I only recognized two names...barely.
Edgerrin James was a decent Colts running back. Hall of Fame running back? Questionable.

Here's a list of modern era RBs in the hall. While there are several I would say James doesn't come close to, there are others who I think "well, maybe he does belong."
I also wonder about the politics of the hall. Manning has been pretty vocal in support of James and the role he played on the good Colts teams.
Of course, I'm also old. I looked at the list and couldn't believe LaDainian Tomlinson has been retired 9 years. As they say, seems like yesterday ...

Edgerrin James was a decent Colts running back. Hall of Fame running back? Questionable. Edge is far from a questionable HoF choice. There have been 16 RBs all time to rush for more than 12k yards. The only three not to be in the HoF (prior to now), Edge, AP, and Frank Gore, with AP and Gore still playing. He led the league in rushing his first two seasons, and toped 1500 rush yards on 4 occasions, only Barry Sanders has ever done that 5 times. Edge was certainly a deserving choice for the HoF.
