Since I live in Jacksonville, I had the chance to watch our softball team play tonight against Jacksonville University. Game 1 of the DH tonight we lost 2-1 in a competitive game. We had a huge base running error late in the game that cost us. Runner on 2nd got picked off by the catcher. Next batter roped a double down the line that would have given us the lead.
We had more fans at the game than JU did, which surprised me. I was very happy to see that!
JU has a couple of players who can hit for power. They were hitting the ball a lot harder than us, that was plainly clear. We are currently winning the second game of the DH 3-0 so hopefully we can get the split.
We play The University of North Florida (also in Jacksonville) tomorrow for a DH. I’m gonna try and catch another game if I can squeeze it in. Tonight’s game was the first time I watched us play softball and I had a great time!
