This certainly sounds like a much more beatable team than Georgia Southern was. I really think we & other midwest teams should be able to play 8 to 10 games each spring & call them exhibition. The advantages of playing in weather where you can get outside are that immense.

The advantages of playing in weather where you can get outside are that immense. Not necessary. D1 teams play 50+ games. If you write off 10 as "exhibition", then where do you make up the rest? When BSU gets the indoor field facility, preparation will improve to an extent. WMU took one from USC in So Cal. CMU took 3 of 4 from UNLV in Las Vegas. IU took one from #12 LSU in Baton Rouge. These are all warm weather teams, hosting cold weather teams. BSU just needed to prep better, and GaSo is a decent baseball program.

I was aware of the wins by CMU & WMU and am not asking us to schedule games just to get wins. I would think we would play games against Anderson & Taylor or other nearby schools as a step up from inter squad games & if we are that is the equivalent of exhibition games. I would think GA Southern would do the same against smaller schools near them. Am I wrong?

Heading to the HBU game on Friday. Not too many chances to see any games in person here in the Lone Star State, so this should be fun. HBU's AD is a Ball State alum, so that certainly helped with the scheduling of this early season game.

Let's see if they can secure a W without extra innings today.
