People, as usual, find it difficult to think ahead, especially when the situation is out of the ordinary. But think about these facts.
1) There is no way we can have anything like normal NFL games with 70K spectators crowded into a stadium by August or September. Probably not until an proven effective vaccine is widely deployed. I haven't seen anyone who is saying that will happen this year.
2) There remains a HUGE and lucrative market for televised NFL football....one that will be absolutely drooling for the product by the end of summer.
So then what happens?
There is going to have to be some solution involving 1) testing of all participants, 2) drastic reduction of those present at games, and 3) sequestering of players and staff....at least part of the time.
You can think up all sorts of complications and difficulties, but they are just going to have to be met one way or another. The money is there to motivate creative thinking and dealing with problems. For example, players that don't want to be frequently tested and sequestered certainly don't have to participate. There are plenty of others who will take that paycheck. And the players who have a big problem can just take their next best alternative job....probably driving a delivery truck or whatever.

Also, the creative and difficult-to-employ solutions that you can dream up for professional players probably wont work for college players. My money is on the college season being cancelled.

The odds of having college football have to be low. The NFL has the money and the pull to put together a TV/radio/social media only season. It would be weird without fans but if any league could do it its the NFL. And people would be very hungry to watch. Starved.
