Five bucks says neither MAC basketball nor spring MAC football happens. You’d win that bet.

It's the way University Presidents make decisions so often. "Everyone else does is it" is safe. So when do you think they make the call on cancelling basketball? Since it's indoors the risk of transmission is an order of magnitude higher. Basketball could go forward with less expense, that is different.
Practices, testing and monitoring players is easier.
And the TV revenue is better. Finance and safety for players both less severe problems.
The other issue is that by the time they are making the decision there is substantial chance the University will be going online.
I am not optimistic about it, but I do think they will delay a decision and see what everybody else is doing...

If there is a basketball season it would seem likely they’d choose to go fanless.

Sorry Ironically Ive been out at 5th 6th grade football combine.. Yep this sucks but I do have a little insight. Please do not blame the coaches or Ad's for this they wanted to play and they are as shocked as we are. Going into last night most Ad's and coaches across the MAC knew a vote was coming but expected the vote to go an entirely different way. Ive heard the vote was unanimous sowh really that means it probably ended up tied and the other presidents like 00mh said fine to show a united front.
It is what it is and while covid is the cause the cancellation had much more to do with finances of it all

I'm glad at least of a few of the university presidents seem to.

Ad's have to care because their job is direct athletics and find creative ways to get more money for their athletic programs

Coaches should never care and always want more money. Finances are not their job they are hired to coach and win games. Yeah, except coaches (especially those that don't win games) are always eager to tell you about all the things they teach their players that don't involve winning games, including a good number of things that should include fiscal responsibility.

If coaches don't think money and costs they better win very big...
It's like a coach saying he doesn't want to care what alumni think.
It is all part of their job in today's game.
Plus they're paid so much now that can't be ignored.

No football for the MAC...We all will survive...Can we hope for games in the Spring? I truly hope for all the hard working players that we can have a meaningful Spring season. I feel strangely cheated somehow.

All coaches have always said what ever they have to say to please who ever they are talking too... They have a budget they will spend every penny of every year then beg and plead for more....

The Money you speak of comes from the alum Coaches getting payed a lot means they better win and win fast or they are out ******These arguments are more big school fitting than BSU fitting*********

00mh dont take this the wrong way but arguing with you is like talking and trying to get something real out of a coach. It often just ends in a circular conversation that ends where it started lol
