If you bank there LEAVE! RUN! HEAD FOR THE HILLS!
Their fraud department is a fucking joke. Less than a week after I'd gotten my new Northwest debit card (which I'd never even used, as I had already created an account at IMCU with the intent to leave Northwest once I knew I'd transferred over ally my automatic payments) there was a $400 t-mobile debit purchase in CA.
My mother's had 6 fraudulent charges on her card since the change over. Four of them just this weekend. She's moving to Old National as soon as they give her her fucking money back.
We aren't the only ones that have been hit by their shitty ability to keep accounts secure either.
Dave Heeter was always a piece of shit greedy asshole, and selling to this joke of a bank to cash out while leaving over half his employees in the dust just proves it.

Not exactly Dave's decision.
Banking consolidation is survival.
Not sure Northwest worse than others.
I'd cancel any debit card where you have a big balance. Open a CC account with auto pay on it, and change your other autopay billing to the CC.
Electronic checking is almost the same thing, a bit more secure than debit card to set up automatic drafts, vulnerable if your e-banking is hacked. Insist on two factor authentication, use strong, unique passwords and an authenticator app and a browser password app.
Make sure all such accounts including CC notify you by text on transactions. Quick action possible.
Freeze your credit.
It's a jungle out there.
