For those planning trips back to Muncie to go to athletic events, there is a new hotel option available. A Courtyard Marriott just opened at the Horizon Convention Center on South High Street. It includes a Three Wise Men Brewery as the attached restaurant. For those that do not know, Three Wise Men is another Scott Wise venture(aka Scotty's Brewhouse). With the other good bars in downtown Muncie within walking distance, this makes the Courtyard a smart pick for sports weekends. Courtyard Marriott MuncieThree Wise Men
P.S. When is Muncie Gras?

I haven't been there yet (the Muncie location). I think the best places to eat in Muncie are downtown. Savages Ale House, The Barn Brasserie and now Thr3e Wise Men are all great. I'm content to let everyone eat on McGalliard.

In typical Muncie fashion, the Courtyard was built BEFORE the quiet zone for the railroads have been approved. One of the many reasons the Robert's failed was because of the railroad noise.

Not liking train noise while staying at a hotel? What's wrong with people? Just have to pretend you're a hobo.

Coach Lembo also directed me to Vera Mae's restaurant - good food (fine dining) in the downtown which was a nice change of pace from the franchise routine! I going to get to Muncie in a couple weeks for a men's and/or womens game with my wife so we will do the Courtyard and hit some of the places you mentioned - THANKS!

Also, the Barn Brasserie is pretty good. all three within walking distance. There is also Savage's Ale House. Good food, cheap.

Bigfoot - Consider the Red Carper Inn on South Madison for a real taste of luxury.

Oh dear...Beware General's Hotel Reviews My wife and are departing our home on Kentucky Lake and driving to Muncie in the morning. Going to be staying at the new Courtyard in downtown Muncie for a couple days. Plan to take in some men's and women's BB practices and games. Also plan to get to meet some of the new football coaching staff and check out the Venderly building progress. Will let folks know our opinion of the Courtyard etc.!

Close to campus and some great eateries downtown! Eating dinner at Vera Mae's tonight and then meeting some friends at Thr3e Wise Men later for some beverages. Should be a fun next few days around campus and taking in some BSU basketball.

I am getting to Muncie this Sunday evening and was wondering if this place is open yet. I am taking in both FB practices on Monday and checking out the new Venderly addition at the stadium. Any updates would be appreciated on this place or any other micro breweries downtown? Will be breaking some bread with staff and not sure if these guys would be into that scene so if not will head to Vera Mae's which I really enjoy.
