Looks like Joel Walton is retiring after this season.
While I think it’s time for fresh blood in the program, it is really a make or break decision for the program when choosing a new coach.

Yeah but would Litch come back to the school that screwed him over?
I won’t be surprised if the administration takes this as an opportunity to dump the program.

Isn't men's volleyball the one program on campus that's self-sustaining?
Thought I heard that somewhere.
But I still wouldn't be surprised if it got cut, along with men's swimming and diving.

Pretty incredible given the program is our best shot at a national championship (or at least was) I guess I understand is why there are so few MVB programs, but if we can I can't believe so many other D1 schools can't manage to add the sport with cost of perhaps a few shared scholarships.

I think there is something to this. Actually after reading the article a few times, I think he was cast in an unfair light. Just my opinion.

Walton may very well go out with a banner year. BSU returns 6 starters from a team that knocked off former national champions Penn State, Ohio State and Loyola their final 3 matches in 2020! In addition, Walton added a 2nd team 6’7” All American transfer from Greece who played at Barton University in 2020 and the kid can play! He will likely replace the graduated Matt Szews. BSU will be loaded in 2021!!!
