You guys do know VDARE is a white supremacist, misogynistic hate blog. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/VDAREThe article cited above is juvenile mockery. Not humor. Almost surprised anyone would post it when there are respectable conservative news stories concerning the appointment easily found. The new assistant secretary's gender or appearance is not the issue. The controversy about the nursing home incident could be debated. In context of good job performance there.

The new assistant secretary's gender or appearance is not the issue. I'd say her gender reassignment and obesity IS an issue if she's going to be Secretary of Health. One mental, one physical. Gender dysphoria is a genuine psychological disorder, which is almost always coupled with other disorders. Being obese means she doesn't know what's healthy, or doesn't follow it. Either way, horrible optics.

So, you have no problem with loading nursing homes with Covid+ elderly, while in the mean time, you remove your own mother to keep her safe.

Either way, horrible optics. She has been treated for gender dysphoria. I hope you are not advocating refusing to hire obese to work in health care administration. "Optics" did not prevent Trump trying to appoint Chris Christie as head of Veteran Affairs, largely a health care post or to a commission advising on opioid abuse, a problem obviously related to knowing what is healthy and doing it. The most important issue here is unrelated to gender, health, or appearance.

I have a big problem with white racist, homophobic, misogynistic web sites that print trash like the article cited. As I said above the nursing home issue is a legitimate one to look at. However, as I read the article cited ( did you see the details there?) it explains that the controversy about removing someone is related to being able to care for them, which Rachel Levine had means and ability to do. She did not use her official capacity or resources of her office. AND, the home (apparently a personal care home, not a nursing home funded the same way or regulated the same) was not in any way under her jurisdiction, NOR did she advocate or in any other way "pack" people in nursing homes. That is a problem existing before and outside her control. The article above might raise an issue, but do you really criticize her actions in caring for mom? Hold her responsible for overcrowding in nursing homes? You have to explain why it overrides her performance? Perhaps we should look at the job duties she will have, and details of her performance in Pa. which I believe are the major issues.

I never brought up the topic of Levine's sexual propensity, so redirecting my question to a response that I did not ask for, does not answer my question. Then I guess you're OK with politicians (not leaders) that take a "do as I say, don't do as I do" approach. Levine's actions are a good example.

VDARE is an immigration site. Sites and speech that fail to agree with the left are called hate site and speech by the left. Too bad those people are so very close minded. Reality is neither right or left. vdare.com/aboutRF

You have responded to a post where I spoke of the VDARE article, and also said that the nursing home issue could be debated. I then addressed that issue. You omit that for some reason when you quote me.
There is no reason to think Rachel Levine is doing anything different than what she says for the reason in my post:
1. NOT a nursing home under her jurisdiction. It was a different type of residential setting. She says nothing about those personal care homes where her mom was living and which she has no regulatory role.
2. The REASON Pa. policy gives for saying nursing home residents should not be removed has to do with the danger to the resident where they can't be cared for properly cared for at home. That does not apply in Levine's case.
So only if you ASSUME away those differences is there any problem at all. I see little reason to criticize her taking care of her mom at home. Or for warning those who are not able to properly do so to avoid doing it. What is the problem you see?

This would not fly if Levine was a Republican. Levine would be cancelled. This is Biden filling out his diversity Bingo card.
