Men's Team split last weekend at George Mason.
Team is home today at 7 PM (ESPN3) and tomorrow at 5 PM (ESPN3) versus Lincoln Memorial.
Conference season starts next weekend at home versus Purdue Fort Wayne.

Ball State men’s volleyball is off to a 7-1 start and currently undefeated in conference play at 4-0. This may be Joel Walton’s best defensive team ever as the Cardinals play incredible team defense and are a ton of fun to watch on ESPN3. Ball State hosts their long time rival and 3- time national champion Ohio State Saturday night at 7:00 in Worthen. The Buckeyes are coming off a weekend sweep of previously undefeated Loyola. A year ago, the Cardinals shocked the Buckeyes in Columbus with a come from behind 3-2 victory! Should be a real dandy Saturday!

After a gut wrenching 3-2 loss to Ohio State two weeks ago BSU returned the favor in Columbus Thursday night winning 15-13 in the 5th set. The win lifts the Cardinals to 8-4 on the season with 6 matches remaining before conference tournament time.The huge road win over the Buckeyes may give the Cardinals some very important momentum as they head down the stretch of Joel Walton’s final year as head coach.

With only 4 matches remaining on the regular season schedule, Ball State is tied for 2nd place in the conference trailing league leading Lewis by only one game. The Cardinals (7-3), host Loyola (7-3) next Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 in two absolutely huge matches. BSU is riding a 3 match winning streak and playing their best volleyball of the season in Joel Walton’s final season as head coach.

After the Loyola matches next weekend, the final weekend they play the second team that they are tied with in the standings - McKendree (7-3). Personally - I thought they were a little sluggish in their games against Quincy.
By the way, Bearkitten - do you know why Ben Chinnici isn't getting any playing time this year? Did the others just pass him in the rotation?

Both teams have split their two matches this season with both going distance with 15-13 finishes. This weekend’s tournament opener promises to be another Jim dandy!

For the first time since 1997, Ball State knocked the 3-time national champion Ohio State Buckeyes out of the conferences tournament with a thrilling 3-1 victory that saw the Cardinals come back from a 20-16 deficit in the final set to win 29-27. It was an intense hard fought battle from start to finish and fans from both universities were treated to a real classic. Congratulations Cardinals!
