Grant "Buck" Jackson Passes AwayJackson pitched for Bowling Green back in the early '60s. Was with the Pirates during their late '70s heyday. He was quite a journeyman, playing for seven MLB teams.

BG has produced some great baseball players through the years. I think Ball State's contributions to the MLB were pretty good. I think Kent State and Ohio's contributions were pretty spectacular. Mike Schmidt is an Ohio alum. So are Steve Swisher (MLB & Nick Swisher's dad), Tom Murphy (MLB & Tom Murphy Jr.'s dad) and Bob Brenly. Miami had Walt Alston and Adam Eaton. |

The MAC schools in general have been underrated in baseball. Two seasons ago I was minding my own business watching a BSU baseball game. Two scouts were within probably 5 feet of me, and they had a long conversation about how MAC baseball is better than Big Ten baseball. |
