Alright all you senior citizen board posters. Where does last night's central Indiana snowfall rank for everyone in terms of amount, drifts, time period, etc? Also let's all thank our stars we don't live in Houston, where the temps hit freezing and they had to have rolling blackouts because of it

Im not a senior but its the most Ive seen fall in a day since living and growing up in Cleveland.. Good thing is it was a light snow and easily movable. Muncie is pretty much up and operating as normal but I have heard of massive drifting in the county areas.

Meh. It's a fair amount, but I've seen a lot worse many times.
Maybe top 20.

I've seen much worse in Indiana. It's not '65 or '78. We had about this much in a storm in 2018.

I wasn't around for '65.
'78 was pretty epic. I lived in the country, and it took a week for a backhoe to dig out our road. The snow on both sides of the road was piled 12 feet high. We had a huge drift in front of our barn, so we would run out of the hayloft door with a sled, and slide down the drift. Dad bought a snowmobile after that, and of course we hardly got to use it for years. Great time to be a kid, not so much a parent.
Now kids don't get snow days, they have e-learning when the snow flies. Just another piece of childhood that's been taken away.

In '67, our neighbors had a 8' drift alongside their driveway. We dug it out into a multiroom igloo. In '78, I was trapped in Whitcraft Hall, but not trapped enough to get cardboard box sleds and drag Busch Light and Richard's Wild Irish Rose from Harvey's Supermarket.

'67 makes sense, those college days all blend together, I had a memory of being snowed in with classes cancelled somewhere in there.
I think we got hit about 3 weeks later with a foot more of snow while that mess was still on the ground.
1965 I remember volunteering in the aftermath of the Palm Sunday tornado which went through the County where I was in school.
