Akron re-booted their baseball program last season with Reds alum Chris Sabo as HC. The season went short and the went 1-12 (played Oakland, Lamar, Pepperdine & Marshall).
Looks like they want to take it a little slower this year. They are playing OOC pre-conference against 2 DIII and 3 DII teams, and during MAC season, they'll play 1 NAIA, 3 DII and 3 DI games ( 2 - Dayton, 1 - Pitt). I'm sure it will get a few wins, but I'm not sure what experience it gives a team.
I guess it's a slow build.
