That's awful. It's one thing to not get out of the way but the overhead view shows he leaned in with his protected elbow.

Wow. Turning the shoulder or butt into an inside pitch is commonplace, but that is ridiculous given it was over the plate!

It was a bush league way to win. It was a freaking strike and he moved his elbow out over the plate to get hit.

The ump admitted to blowing the call, but it shows a pretty clear lack of knowledge of the rulebook by a professional umpire.
Rule 6.08 (b) If the ball is in the strike zone when it touches the batter, it shall be called a strike, whether or not the batter tries to avoid the ball. If the ball is outside the strike zone when it touches the batter, it shall be called a ball if he makes no attempt to avoid being touched.
Blue even started to register the strike and then changed their mind (likely because they realized they heard the sound of the ball hitting the elbow pad, but that should have instantly triggered the thought that, "it was a strike so I should ring him up regardless."
MLB umps might be the biggest shit show in terms of officiating in all professional sports. It's an absolute joke.

Again, the Mets get help from the umpires in a key divisional game...

Well. technically, this one is a double since it hit the top of the railing on the fence, but still the Mets enjoy getting breaks...
