The Cards return home this coming weekend to face NIU. It goes without saying that this series needs to go better than last weekend's series at EMU to not lose traction in the tight division race.

Took two today. 3-1 and 6-3. Scored three in the bottoms of the 8th in the first game. Baker and McDermott were outstanding. Baker = 9 inning complete game. McDermott = 6 innings, 0 earned runs, 12 Ks.

Both starters pitched gems. 1 BB each. Only gave up 1 run between the two of them in 15 innings. Game 2 score was actually 6-2.

Baseball jumped on the MAC ERA leader (MAC games only) today early in game 3 (why is their ace pitching in game 3?) for 5 runs and then held on behind another strong freshman save performance by Klein for a 6-5 W. I'm assuming game 4 has been moved to tomorrow.

Nice 11-1 victory to complete the sweep. Offense exploded in the first and fifth innings for all 11 runs and Trennor O'Donnell pitched 6 strong innings. Much needed because CMU unsurpsingly mopped up on Akron all weekend. 16-4 tie for first at the halfway point of MAC play.
