Next weekend I would argue is as big as any regular season series that BSU has participated in this century. I suggest this since there is no conference tournament that can be used as a 2nd chance to win the MAC bid.
Right now if handicapping the MAC I would suggest CMU has a 60% chance to win, BSU a 38% chance, and "the field" a 2% chance if both BSU and CMU collapse in the final 12 games. If BSU gets swept, CMU pretty much unofficially wins the MAC. It would also take a near miracle for BSU to win the MAC if CMU takes 3. I think BSU would still have an o.k. shot if they split although the margin of error would be small. A series win would obviously be huge, but difficult.
I'm going to be more optimistic than pessimistic and predict a 2-2 split. However, by no means would I be shocked if Central took 3 of 4. It's obviously going to be difficult to win the opener against Jordan Patty.

It's obviously going to be difficult to win the opener against Jordan Patty. CMU pitchers are very hittable if you are disciplined. The scouts online say you have to go to opposite field with them early in the count. We are facing Patty at a good time after coming off a perfect game. Those performances are often followed by lackluster ones. Having said that, I think this weekend will be extremely tough. CMU is flat out rolling. A split would be a big win for the weekend. We need Baker, McDermott, and Jaksich to have some of their best games. Sunday will be a very tough game to win, IMO. I wouldn't give the rest of the field 2%. This is a two team race, and might be a one team race by Sunday.

Need 3 to stayed tied, then we'll figure out the rest of May. BSU has a much tougher schedule to end the season.

Over the next month, BSU will face probably the five toughest pitchers in the MAC not wearing a Cardinal jersey.

BSU loses the opener 7-3. Fielding was rather poor today. 3 errors and 4 unearned CMU runs resulted from those errors. Can't afford to shoot yourself in the foot vs a top notch MAC team in that fashion. Hopefully the Cards fare better in tomorrow's doubleheader.

BSU splits the doubleheader with a 2-3 loss and a 13-3 win in the 2nd game. Would of been nice if they had been half as explosive offensively in game 1, but game 2 was quite impressive. Jaksitch had control issues in game 2 but thankfully it didnt matter.
Absolute must win game on Sunday. The difference between leaving this series with a 1 game deficit and a 3 game deficit is huge.

Wish we could go and support the team in a big game
OTOH the forecast is rain so it seems likely the bsuish result is a rainout...

BSU rallies in the top of the 9th to win 8-7.
Baker comes in and gets the save.
2-2 series split.

WHAT A COMEBACK! Score three runs in the top of the 9th to pull out a 8-7 victory today. Baker gets the save in the bottom of the 9th to slam the door shut.

What a nasty day to play baseball. What a good win. Hanging in there. Neither team can afford a bad series, maybe not a bad game the rest of the way.

Phew, a loss would of made it nearly impossible to catch CMU, especially if CMU owned head to head. Very clutch of the Cards to score 3 in the top of the 9th. It's still a very daunting task but imo a split is not bad given it was on the road vs a top 65-70 team in D1.

Were this the Chips celebrating a win using the BSU Chirp-Chirp hand symbol?? Was this a little bit of disrespect for the Cardinals?
