That's a great achievement! Especially considering how many division 1 schools there are and their closers.

Did she get an extra year to do it? We are going to see alot of records fall.. Justin has a chance to own a bunch of BSU records after playing thus 5th year

She is a 5th year player, but remember, other D1 players also elected to play another year, so there are other 5 year relievers.

A record is a record, but pitching is such a different animal in softball compared to baseball. 33 saves in five years doesn't sound like a lot, but softball has only used like 4 pitchers this year compared to 15-16 for baseball. And Rothwell, while maybe technically the closer, has also started 3 games and started all of last year so she had no saves in 1 of her 5 years.
Maybe she deserves kudos as much as anything for just filling whatever the role the team needs.
