The Cards have the step-ladder tie-breaker advantage over Central should Western Michigan finish in 3rd place.
Ball State went 3-1 vs. Western Michigan, and Central went 1-3.

The Cards have the step-ladder tie-breaker advantage over Central should Western Michigan finish in 3rd place. Ball State went 3-1 vs. Western Michigan, and Central went 1-3. Nice, I wasn't sure how tiebreakers would work with an identical schedule. That could be quite pivotal granted I definitely don't want to see a split in either of the next 2 series.

Western plays at Kent this weekend, so Kent could overtake second from them. In that scenario we no longer own the tiebreaker, as we split with Kent while CMU won the Kent series 3-1.

True, hopefully Western can at least split with Kent St to maintain their 2 game lead heading into the final series. Kent is the #1 hitting team in the MAC. WMU is #4. - Kent has the #3, #5, #12, #20 & #29 best hitters. - WMU has the #2, #25, #27 & #30 best hitters. Kent is the #6 pitching team in the MAC. WMU is #7. - Albright skews Kent upward in this category. I think WMU has the pitching to get 2 from Kent.
