Coming into this past series, I think BSU had at least a 45-50% chance to win MAC. In just the past 2 games it went from a coin flip to probably a 6% chance. Its going to take a CMU collapse and BSU not missing a beat all 4 games + step tiebreaker to all fall BSUs way. Hoping for the best but NCAA bid now looks daunting.

Even distribution for an 11 team league, where each team plays each opponent 4 times would look like this when the top few teams are separated from the pack (factor a few additional sweeps) :  CMU got their sweeps, but the WMU series hurt them. BSU needs another sweep. |

Today's game moved until tomorrow. Two doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday. From ballstatesports.com/news/2021/5/27/baseball-ballstate-cards-close-regular-season-at-home.aspx ... Ball State must be at least two games better than Central Michigan. If both teams finish tied, each team's record against the No. 3 team is the tiebreaker. Ball State holds the tiebreaker if Toledo or Western Michigan are the No. 3. Central Michigan holds it if Kent State is the No. 3. It looks like CMU/Toledo are also playing Sat/Sun doubleheaders. Basically to have any prayer of a last hurrah, BSU has to cut deficit to 1 GB heading into the joint twin bills Sunday. Hopefully Toledo has a high incentive to play for 3rd.

BSU wins 1st game 1-0 in 7 innings. Probably the toughest effort of the season for BSU. Sam Bachman for Miami challenged them the whole way.
McDermott started and pitched well through 6. John Baker comes in for the 7th and strikes out 3. Baker will start game 2.
