The Council is very big on promoting academics and service, dealing with the political issues facing college sports.   There is a role remotely possible to try to deal with the impossible problem of how P5 fits with the rest of D1.  That would put him at the table and he'd be good there with his legal and negotiating background if they actually get to the point of doing something rather than just talk.  Not holding my breath on that or any good deal being made.
