I am going to make one comment here; it’s not to be in defense of Whit because like all of you I’m about winning to but fact is Whits best team never got to play one game in Cleveland due to Covid. Who knows what would have happened but Vegas had us pegged to play in the Final. Seriously kid, does it not occur to you that when your coach has been in place 9 years and his post season highlight is a tourney that wasn't played, then the situation is absolutely and totally pathetic?

Did I not say it was not said in defense of Whit? What I stated was factual as that was a pretty good damn team and it’s unfortunate we didn’t get to see that season play out!
I’m not giving Coach any latitude; he needs to have a strong season this year!
Okay, I know what defines strong? I guess 20 or more wins, and at least a couple of wins in the MAC tournament

Anything short of an NCAA Tourney win and he needs to be canned, to be honest I don't even think that should save his lazy ass.

If I’m correct, another way to say it is that Vegas had us losing in the final. One loss in the final in 8 years would still not be enough.

Jackson Street, that is correct based on the odds!
I’m simply saying it’s a shame our best team in a decade didn’t get a chance to play whether you consider Whit or not.
And, to your point if we made it to the Final anything could have happened including a tournament win and a trip to the dance!
But, of course we’ll never know.

Practice has started; anyone had access? Jacob could push Bum to start at PG. Look for the Freshman Sparks to be a beast in the middle. Could Windham have matured? Heard Thomas put on 8-10 pounds of muscle share.icloud.com/photos/0HihYw6rlJE6pmXtfHUT-HVmA"Look for the Freshman Sparks to be a beast in the middle." lolz

When I said on this board that 2019 was Whitford's glory year because the covid cancellation prevented his yearly MAC tourney faceplant from happening, I was TRYING to be sarcastic.
But the apparent fact is that Whitford's record and the inanity of his supporters are beyond sarcasm.

done get me wrong. he is better than huggins or hendricks. definitely better upside. I hope he can do what Moses did as a freshman. that was a pleasant surprise a few years back. problem was he just never got any better.

In my opinion, I feel like this team feels deep because there are no standouts. There is nobody on the roster that will scare anybody. There is no discernible drop off in skill level from the first to the 10th player. Team speed is a concern. This team will not win any games pretty... All wins will come through grit, effort, defense and rebounding. On the plus side this is the tallest squad that ball state has had in several years.
Nothing will make me happier than to be proved wrong.
Go mighty Cards!
