10 years, $100 million plus incentives. Sheesh, I don't blame him one bit for leaving. Notre Dame will be a fascinating hire.............

Kelly maxed out what he could do at ND. At LSU, on top of the money, he'll be able to recruit just about any kid out there, where at ND the admissions process was a bit more restrictive and there's always the South Bend weather.....

Yeah and as-long-as Kelly can put LSU in the playoffs every year he probably has a lifetime deal. My only question is will Kelly be a guy that can attract top talent to LSU. I am not sure about that. It just seems like square peg round hole.

We can all nderstand the financial incentive to move, but something is rotten in college football where these changes take place in bowl season.
This may or nay not be similar to Brady leaving BSU in 2008. Not that ND should have much chance to actually win the title, but it might even mean ND now has zero chance to get into the final 4. Just losing the coach would hurt recruiting, but that is unavoidable, but throwing the program into limbo with at least one game to play at a critical time has no remedy. Kelly ought to forfeit and return his seasons salary, LSU can apparently afford to buy him out. Not this year, but those incentives would be the same if ND was going to be a national title contender.

Not only will LSU pay him a fortune guaranteed, the money here is ridiculous, but I assume is also buying him out of his extended contract.
Why does anyone even pretend a G5 school can compete with this kind of money in play? An NFL franchise invests less.

You don't have to pretend, Cincinnati is in the playoffs.

Have you visited the BSU campus??? I live a block away...
I am not sure what your point is. Much of our campus beauty comes from state budget for maintenance and the decision to allow bond funding for brick and mortar.
No state money money available for athletics in any way, limited ability to raise money from alumni.
I suppose we could double student fees...maybe the legislature would not notice how we are spending the money and not react with limitation just because the paying customers objected.

Kelly is going to have to recruit like a maniac to have the sort of team LSU expects....or else the fanbase is going to soon hate him and make his life miserable. Is Kelly ready to recruit like a maniac? I'm not seeing it working out.

Kelly's first act will be to hire a competent translator.
