Any F1 fans here? Going into Sunday’s finale the top 2 contenders are tied on points. Should be an exciting race.

Never was an F1 fan, but I'm starting to get back into IndyCar. I was a huge fan as a kid, when Foyt, Big Al (who I just saw has passed at age 82!), Mears, and Mario were racing.
The last time I watched qualifying in person was 1983, when Teo Fabi did a lap at 208, which was a newwwwww traaaaaaack record!
Takuma Sato, Josef Newgarden, Will Power, and JR Hildebrand are fun to watch. But there is no driver more compelling than Alexander Rossi. That guy can do things in an IndyCar that I've never seen before. He can jump up 10 spots in a couple laps when he's on, and can squeeze between cars that makes you hold your breath, and wonder how he did it without crashing.
But I miss the "colorful" personalities. Everyone is just so managed now, that nobody will say anything controversial. When Kevin Cogan wiped out several front-runners at the start of the '82 Indy 500, before the drop of the green flag no less, AJ and Mario were livid. Mario - "This is what you get when you have children doing a man's job!" And AJ - "It was just a stupid deal, the guy had his head up his ass, that's all."
That was the Golden Age of racing.

The internet is all a flutter over the finish and the stewards decision making. I understand a grand total of none of it, but apparently it makes NASCAR look tame lol

I'm not a huge racing fan, but I got into F1 from a friend of mine who loves it and encouraged me to watch "Drive to Survive" on Netflix. A documentary crew covers the season usually going deep into the smaller teams and spending a race weekend with each of the bigger teams. I really enjoyed the documentary and this upcoming season should be awesome.

I am a big motor sports fan and love to photograph it. The F! championship was a total gluster***k by the FIA officials. Hamilton was robbed after holding an 11 second lead before the wreck. It was an inconsistent call in restarting that race they way they did. If they had red flagged the race everybody could have had new rubber and there still would have had a high drama finish on equal terms. It did make F1 look like Nascar!
