I don't like the fine on Gard. I think it's just the B1G trying to avoid looking racist, and I think it gives Howard an excuse. Sure, Gard shouldn't have "touched" Howard, but there's nothing to be fined over. I don't know their history, but they didn't seem to like each other much.
Oh, and Howard's an ass.

I found it amusing how many ESPN talking heads "thought" a multi game season ending suspension was understandably warranted and commensurate with throwing a punch, but a possible dismissal was way out of proportion, unjust and completely bonkers. Anything that results in a long suspension you can in fact be justifiably terminated for. It's a really fine line. Of course commonsense is seldom on display from ESPN's woke "analysts".

I don't think it warranted firing him, but if I were the AD, I'd let him know it's his second strike. Any more violent acts and you're done. |
