Johnson has been all over the place. IPFW, Butler, Ohio State, Auburn, Lincoln Trail JC. Life-long assistant who has never been an associate head coach. No thank you. He ran the defense at Ohio State and currently runs the offense at Purdue. He is a solid basketball guy who keeps getting better jobs. He would be a good hire. |

Headed to Maui with wife for a 40th anniversary trip early tomorrow, will definitely be drinking a few tonight and on the plane and there in celebration of this firing! I'm headed to the Dominican Thursday I will virtually toast ya.. What are we drinking What, ya gonna scout baseball players? |

Just got an email from cvc stating whit has been fired. That's a new one Yeah I got that as well, odd because I haven't given money to the CVC in almost twenty years. edit: I take that back I gave them $10 in this years fundraiser, $5 for each of Whitford's two Conference Tourney victories. That probably explains why I got it. |

I watched Darner at Anderson Highland. Had a sweet soft shot. Have no idea what kind of a head coach he was or is. How was he as an assistant with the players etc. From the little that i gathered from the internet and watched, that he wins he has won everywhere he has been. I know he snapped Green Bay’s NCAA drought and that he won a National Championship. Watched a YouTube video of him against Bellermine in the semifinal game of D2 National Championship and that style would reenergize the fan base and bring a completely different product on the floor to Worthen Arena. I also watched him, his brother, sister, and his father(coach) in high school and the competitive apple didn’t fall from the tree. |

Exactly , he is a candidate only because he’s a Power 5 asst. That’s what we hired 9 years ago, but if AD hires a search firm that will be what they will recommend. It may workout but I’m assuming AD will already be at her next step up spot so it won’t really matter. |
