He is the greatest player to ever put on a BSU uniform, no question. That in it self does not make him a qualified candidate. Now, I would be interested to see if he would have the ability to recruit. I would not have a problem if the new head coach wanted him as part of the staff. A former NBA player from Ball State might be able to convince a kid to be the next Bonzi Wells. I just hope he does not feel entitled to the job.

Can't imagine Bonzi would ever be the choice, but if he is a serious enough candidate to get an interview, there is a potential problem. Tuning him down may force Goetz/Mearns to limit their choice to a certain demographic that is only about 14% of the population in order to avoid criticism and in particular to avoid the "r" word. Nothing, and I mean N-O-T-H-I-N-G terrifies woke people like Geotz and Mearns the way the "r" word does. Would be a shame to eliminate 84% of the potential candidate pool on that basis...although that sort of thing happens quite often.

I am just really not sure what the point of interviewing Bonzi is. Speak to him as a former player to consult with him? Ok. But, to interview him for the job? What good will come of that?

It would have been in the past. I don't know about now. People grow up sometimes. His contribution to MC recently as an assistant was a joke. This right here.

Hiring within the "family" has worked out fine for Georgetown. They just recently extended Ewing.

Good assistant for BSU not a head Coach

Good assistant for BSU not a head Coach A good assistant at this level needs to be a very hard worker, certainly tireless recruiting is as much or more the assistant than the HC, or unless they are exceptional there, they have to have exceptional coaching and teaching skills.
There is nothing in the record for to prove either.

per Zaleski just a few minutes ago, Michael Lewis seems to be the favorite.

Terry Johnson being mentioned by Hoop Dirt today, along with the Bonzi interview. Basically all these "rumor sites" just parrot each other.
