per Zaleski just a few minutes ago, Michael Lewis seems to be the favorite. To be honest, I don't think Lewis is even in the mix.

We might be able to use Wells like Knight did with Steve Downing at IU. I would imagine he was used in recruiting players and in the office he had a title of assistant AD I believe.

I don't understand the love for Darner. His record at BG was only .535, hardly a record that BSU should be interested in. He didn't turn the program around, win championships or things we should be looking at. Is it continuation of what we have now, player retention or what? I understood the desire for Whit being fired midyear and Darner taking over. But now we need a clean start, someone who can fire up the fan base. Darner seems blaise.

I don't see Bonzi as an administrator.
IU can afford an army of athletic department workers, all paid pretty well, we don't have that kind of budget.

Curious where you get your info from? But he is the complete opposite than what we had?

Word is Fife and Woodson were not a good fit. Not sure he has a gig. I would reach out to him asap.

I am a firm believer the better the hiring pool, the better chance BSU won't screw it up.

Reading between the lines, I get the feeling that Woodson might be a little insecure. Indiana had some issues with discipline and honestly, looked a little unorganized at times. Fife being a head coach previously and being on the bench at Michigan State brings a different perspective to "todays" acceptable behaviors.

But now we need a clean start, someone who can fire up the fan base. How much is possible?
tudent attendance increase is possible, but doesn't bring in revenue and Muncie locals aren't all that likely to turn out. Except at a low ticket price.
We need to draw alumni and others from 60 miles away and that's hard, especially with week night games and few name opponents.
I just don't think MAC basketball is a big draw when the live competition is Butler, IU, PU, and so many college games to watch on ESPN. Not to mention BSU games if you are really interested enough to pay a small monthly amount.
Students came to college liking home basketball games, then. Now? Blackford County?! Adults, families? There were more of both in Muncie. We have suffered population loss, income loss, aging of the local fans from the heyday, demographics are against much revival.

I am a firm believer the better the hiring pool, the better chance BSU won't screw it up. Never a guarantee of that, even with the Sherman Plan where a good hiring pool would not include any of these names!
