13 walks and counting (5 in a row) when I turned it off. Down 11-6

Outhit them but between walks and wild pitches…..no chance. Final was 13-7

Don't expect any wins on the road against a top 25 team but would like walks to come way down the next 2 games.

Don't expect any wins on the road against a top 25 team but would like walks to come way down the next 2 games. Ball State played #5 Arizona last year and split with them 2-2. BSU could come away from Oregon with a couple of wins, but the pitching has to be there. In last night's game, you give up 3 runs in the 2nd with 2 outs and 2 runs in the 7th with 2 outs. (Can't close out an inning) BSU walked 6 in the 8th and gave up 5 runs (Losey had 5 BBs and a WP). BSU can beat Top 25 teams, but the pitching has to be spot on. |

Took a 3-0 early lead in game two of today's twin bill and battled most of the way, but ran out of gas similar to Friday night in falling 10-4. I like our battle in this series, but too many walks and run efficiency (hits: runs) hasn't been great, especially compared to Oregon.

I'm content to get a win on the road vs a team highly likely 2 seed in NCAA tourney. Would be icing on cake if BSU took a 2nd game, but not my expectation.

Too many walks, too many HBPs (sometimes OK if you're pitching them tight), and another run from a wild pitch. In each of the three Oregon games, we have given up a run on a wild pitch. Five of Oregon's 10 runs were scored with two outs. Ya gotta close out innings. |

Close loss today. Would of been awesome to get a split but im fine with taking 1 game. Expecting much more was/is being unrealistic. The goal should be to win next 7 of the next 8 games heading into the CMU showdown in 3 weeks.
